The mouth is the window into human health. This course provides an overview of dental medicine to engage, educate, excite and assist you in improving the oral health of your patients and members of your community. The course provides dentistry students with an interactive, three-dimensional dental library of 32 individual adult teeth. Students are able to engage in self-paced live online classes learning by rotating and identifying significant features of individual, anatomically correct teeth. The 3D dental software program was created in response to student's frustrations visualizing three-dimensional teeth when working from two-dimensional drawings. We will review topics in dental anatomy include the scope of the field, what to expect in function, and some of the many ways that dysfunction may present for different patients. This will include discussions of mouth, jaw, and tooth anatomy, pathology, oral embryology, and treatment. This course starts with basic concepts and proceeds to review trends in current research and technology.

Dental anatomy is a subject that should be remembered throughout life by a dental graduate. Our faculty teaches the student in such a way that the student remembers it very easily throughout their lives. The dental anatomy and oral embryology class online are also conducted in batches with a maximum of five students per batch. It depends upon the student on the method the student chooses for teaching.
